Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better known as Ari Lennox, is an American artist and performer from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. On October 21, 2016 Pho was released by her which was her first EP released on the label Dreamville Records. This was when she was first recognized. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It came out in May of 2019. Ari Lennox published her first songs online in the year 2012. Her first album was Five Finger Discount in 2013 and Ariography EP in 2013. The singer continued uploading her music online in 2014, including her self-released single Bound. She appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes, from Sweat It Out, in July 21st, 2015. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew back then would like to see her work on Rihanna reference. It was announced on December 8that she was been signed to Dreamville Records. The singer appeared on the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II which featured the track Backseat alongside Cozz. On October 21 2016 she debuted her first EP entitled Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performer on behalf of J. Cole on his track Change in the year 2017 and performed on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. She also appeared on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus along with Bas and her labelmates. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July, 2018. A music video was then released in September. On November 9 she released two other singles, 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. Then, on November 13, she released two additional singles called No One or Pdigree. She then appeared to the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on the track Shea Butter Baby on November 16, which was then released as a single on February 26, 2019, for her debut album the same title. The track was accompanied by the music video which debuted on February 20, 2019, which it surpassed 3 million views on YouTube in one week. In December 2018 she took part in The From East Atlanta With Love Tour that featured 6LACK.
